A cerimônia de premiação do Billboard Music Awards aconteceu nesta quarta-feira (14), no Dolby Theatre, em Los Angeles. Desde 2011, a entrega dos prêmios é realizada em abril, mas a data precisou ser ajustada por conta da pandemia de coronavírus neste ano.
Um dos grandes destaques da noite foi o rapper Post Malone, que venceu nove categorias no evento – incluindo a de Top Artist, uma das principais da premiação. “É muito importante pra mim e para todos os envolvidos vencer esse prêmio. Sinceramente, poder alcançar as pessoas que talvez não tenham a quem recorrer, poder alcançá-las e mostrar que elas não estão sozinhas, é muito importante“, agradeceu ele.
Os prêmios foram entregues para os artistas que fizeram mais sucesso em 2019 e a apresentação foi realizada por Kelly Clarkson pela terceira vez consecutiva. Nomes como BTS, Doja Cat e Demi Lovato fizeram performances no evento.
